Pacer Attacked!

the Incident

Pacer Farm Pacer No. 2 was due for routine maintenance at Hanagan's Auto Service, in preparation for which it was set out on their premises the previous evening.  some time during the night it was attacked by person or persons unknown, sustaining damage to the LH vent window during an apparent forcible entry.

nothing was taken from the vehicle.

the Montgomery County Police Department has jurisdiction but (despite its best efforts) was unable to prevent this crime -- perhaps they should consider augmenting their fleet with Patrol Pacers similar to one operated by another law enforcement agency.

the Aftermath

seeking to repair the damage we contacted the Manager of the Parts Department of a Daimler-Chrysler dealer.  based on our AMC Parts Book we asked him to check for part J368 3051 "Frame Assembly, Front Door Ventilator (Incl. Glass)" known also as J812 6563.  we were quite disappointed to hear him read back from his computer screen:

 Part cancelled
   No Price
   No Inventory

coming soon:  a trip to the Strategic Pacer Reserve at Elwood's Auto Salvage.
